Marilyn was born and raised in San Francisco, so she has been surrounded by the beauty of the bay area her whole life. A very special circumstance!

EDUCATION: Her artistic focus began when she attended the Renaissance Academy of Fine Art in Washington. Her education continued with workshops at the Scottsdale Artists School and studies with local artists. But the passion for Plein Air Painting developed by working with the Oil Painters of America and Plein Air Painters of America artists Ted Goerschner, Kevin MacPherson and Ken Auster. She credits Goerschner with developing her plein air painting skills.

AWARDS: Among Marilyn’s awards are a Merit Award from Marin Arts Council, First Place and a Judges Award at Art in the Redwoods, and most recently a First and Third in Oils from the Wind River Artists Guild in Jackson, Wyoming.

SOLO EXHIBITS: Henry Gifford Hardy Gallery, University Club, San Francisco; S. Monte & Co., San Rafael, and the San Rafael Corporate Center. In 2000, she was the featured artist for the Mt. Tamalpais “Friends of the Watershed.”

EXHIBITIONS: Marilyn’s work has been selected in several national exhibitions. Locally she has shown her paintings at Art Works Downtown, College of Marin, Falkirk Cultural Center, Open Studios and Marin/Scapes.

JURIED EXHIBITS have included Artisans Gallery, Indian Valley Artists, Marin Arts Council, College of Marin. Out of State juried shows include the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance, Wind River Artists, and the Sedona Arts Center.

AFFILIATIONS: Member, Marin Arts Council, American Impressionist Society, Art on the Farm: associate membership in Art Works Downtown, Oil Painters of America, Women Artists of the West, American Academy of Women Artists.
