Artist's Statement

    "I am absolutely devoted to painting in oils, fascinated by the harmony and the endless color
     combinations created first on the palette  and then on the canvas.
 
     As a plein air painter, you will find me outside in the natural light, surrounded by the magnificent
     and diverse beauty of the landscape. I paint in a representational style much like my heroes,
     the early California impressionists. How they saw the colors, the shapes, the shadows and light,
     is a constant inspiration for me. What a joy to be part of this universe!

     A strong desire to "capture the moment" draws me to my easel where I delight in pursuing my
     passion. Some have been known to call it an obsession. Whatever you call it, it’s absolutely
     what I love to do.

     I hope those who see my paintings feel the energy, experience the emotion, and share with
     me the majesty and power of the landscape."
